While I'm located in St. Paul MN, I currently teach many students online. I only accept committed, reliable, and long-term students for online lessons, which might later turn into a combination of both in-person and online sessions. It's essential that all students are ready to go online in case of COVID resurgences. Serious progress requires a minimum of a one-hour lesson, and my rates are $138 for an hour, $104 for 45 minutes, and $69 for 30 minutes. I want to emphasize that I'm interested in working with students who are devoted to music and their instrument. While most of them are adults, I'm willing to teach children who show dedication and good behavior. For younger children, parent support is crucial, while older kids may require a moderate level of parental involvement.
If you're tired of stumbling upon aimless YouTube videos, I offer structured and accountable online lessons. As a highly experienced online instructor, I utilize multiple camera angles, screen sharing, PDF documents, and custom annotations to make sure your online lessons are top-notch.
My background includes two bachelor's degrees in guitar performance and classical training from Musikhochschule Luebeck in Germany. I'm also a qualified luthier who's been teaching music online for ten years.
For new students, I require a 60-minute introductory lesson to determine your skill level, goals, and expectations, and for you to get a taste of my teaching style. Intro lessons come at an hourly rate and give us a baseline to work from. Not everyone is the right fit for my program, but I'll help you set goals and expectations, decide on a package, understand my policies and budget, and create a lesson schedule if it suits us both.
