Located in Baltimore, I am a composer who teaches a variety of theory, history, and popular music courses at The Peabody Conservatory, Johns Hopkins, and Towson. My hourly rate is $50 and I am interested in discussing your goals to determine how I can assist you in reaching them.
Having taught students of all ages and skill levels, both in academic and non-academic settings, I have the ability to tailor materials and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of each individual. My objective is to strike a balance between intellectual and artistic standards and the student's engagement and entertainment throughout the musical journey.
I typically teach from my residence in the northern suburbs of Baltimore, though I can make accommodations when necessary to meet with students at alternate locations. If you are interested in scheduling private music lessons for yourself or a loved one, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss further and explore how we can work together to achieve your objectives.

Michael is an actual professional — a skilled music creator and performer who is enthusiastic about guiding others in advancing their musical pursuits. He possesses an extensive comprehension of music but doesn't impose any strict rules, and his friendly manner makes his classes even more engaging. I strongly recommend him.

Our experience with Michael has been very positive. He is both communicative and responsive to our objectives. Sofia is enthusiastic about her progress in learning and feels like she is making good strides in achieving her goals. Michael has demonstrated a willingness to be flexible in his lesson planning, taking into account Sofia's desire to perform better in school auditions for musicals. He is always accommodating with regards to scheduling locations and times for our meetings, and is very prompt in his responses to messages. Overall, we are very grateful for the work that Michael has done and the progress that Sofia has made under his guidance.
