Description:

Thank you for visiting my profile. As a member of the United States Chess Federation, I tutor individuals with little or no knowledge of the game. Additionally, I am a technology teacher and chess coach at a public school in NYC. In 2013, my middle school chess team earned first place in the Non-Rated division. Moreover, I compete in tournaments and recently scored four wins in the 16th Annual Manhattan Open of 2017, resulting in a rating of 1597. In August 2018, I participated in the 17th Annual Manhattan Open and earned second place with four wins and one tie. Having taught for over twenty years, I incorporate fun and educational techniques into chess lessons. Do not hesitate to contact me with any inquiries.

Rene is a remarkably knowledgeable and committed chess coach! As my son's 7th birthday approached, he expressed a strong desire to learn the game. After extensive research for a coach with patience and experience, I was extremely fortunate to discover Rene. He brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his lessons, and employs a variety of coaching techniques to keep my easily-distracted son engaged and entertained.
