I suspected that there was a white mold issue in my home's basement, so I shared photos with multiple mold remediation companies. While one vendor charged $1500 to remedy the problem based on the images provided, Jeremy from PuroClean examined the photographs and informed me that the white substance was actually efflorescence. This type of build-up is caused by salt minerals seeping through concrete and poses no threat to a property.
