My interest in tuning began during my teenage years after my family acquired a 19th century antique German upright piano. Following my passion for music performance, I spent decades tuning a diverse collection of instruments before officially becoming a professional tuner in 2014 when I joined the PTG. In the beginning, my success was chiefly dependent on word-of-mouth referrals. Today, I am excited to serve new clients through CrackerJack, and I am equipped to work on a variety of pianos ranging from new concert grands to antique uprights in need of restoration. My comprehensive range of services includes tuning, voicing, regulation, restoration, and rebuilding. I have had the privilege of serving numerous private piano owners, concert venues in the DC area, theatres, churches, performing arts schools, concert pianists, Grammy Award winners, and Metropolitan Opera singers.

The piano tuner we had was previously highly regarded, but he would often complete a tuning in less than thirty minutes every five months. However, Piotr, our new piano tuner, exceeded expectations. He started with a basic tuning and proceeded to take precise measurements of the piano to make a detailed profile on his computer for future tunings. He spent more than 90 minutes tuning the piano. I was amazed by his thoroughness.
Piotr even researched the serial number of our 1958 Baldwin piano and shared his knowledge of how humidity and seasonal changes can affect a piano's components. Additionally, he made some minor pedal adjustments at no extra cost.
Piotr's depth of knowledge and meticulous attention to our little spinet greatly impressed me. The piano has never sounded better, and I plan to hire Piotr regularly in the future.
