Hi there! I'm Vanessa, a native of Brazil and a skilled teacher of Portuguese and English as a foreign language. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Literature from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and a Master's in Bilingual Education from UMass Amherst.

In addition to teaching, I'm also a singer and songwriter, and I love helping kids learn to sing and play the guitar in a fun and engaging way.

When it comes to teaching, my focus is always on my students' individual needs and desires. Let me know what you hope to accomplish, and I'll design classes that are tailored to your goals. Whether you're interested in cultural immersion or in mastering the intricacies of Portuguese grammar, we'll have a great time learning together!

All of my Portuguese classes are conducted online through platforms like Zoom and Meet, so you can join in from the comfort of your own home. And if you're interested in learning to sing or play the guitar, I offer both online and in-person lessons in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
