Hey there! I'm Matt, a pianist, composer, producer, and educator from Los Angeles 🎶. With a background in music education and experience working as a professor at Occidental College 🤓, I love teaching students of all ages and levels, from beginners to professionals.
I customize each lesson plan based on the student's goals and prior experience, covering genres such as classical, jazz, pop, and R&B. My lessons focus on helping you learn improvisation, sight-reading, music production, ear training, and audio engineering in a simple, fun, and rewarding way 🤗.
My home studio in Los Angeles is equipped with state-of-the-art recording and teaching equipment (covid compliant 😷) for in-person lessons, while multiple camera angles on Zoom accurately replicate the hands-on experience of face-to-face lessons (check out the pics below). As a performer, I've been fortunate to work and tour with some amazing artists, including the stars of "American Idol," "Glee," and "The Voice," REO Speedwagon, and Engelbert Humperdinck 🎹. My compositions have also been featured in TV commercials, movies, and shows like "Bones," "Millionaire Matchmaker," and MTV's "10 on top" 🎧.
