Paul Murphy

I am a seasoned studio musician, proficient in music production, recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. When requested, I compose and perform music in sessions to contribute to songwriting. As a voting member for the Grammy Awards, I have worked on notable projects such as Xbox 360, Nnedi Okorafor, Avant, and more.

When it comes to teaching music production and technology, songwriting, and music composition, I have taught at prestigious music colleges such as Musicians Institute in Hollywood California, and currently co-found in-Studio in Orland Park, Illinois. I also work in commercial recording studios, which gives me the ability to teach songwriting conventions of music and industry techniques to become proficient. My education has included a B.A. in Liberal Arts from DePaul University, along with additional studies from the American Conservatory of Music, Berkeley School of Music, Saddleback College, Mission Viejo, CA, and prominent private instructors.

Witnessing my students' success in the music industry is a fulfilling aspect of my job. I have had the pleasure of teaching students who have gone on to work with big industry names like Celine Dion, David Matthews Band, Metallica, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Dr. Dre, EMINEM, Slash, Mariah Carey, and more. Furthermore, I have recorded and trained artists who have gone on major tours and received radio airplay. It's an amazing feeling to see my students succeed and make records that they release and support on tours!
