Painting Instruction with Ross Drago
Head to the newly opened Berkeley Bowl West Marketplace in Berkeley for a chance to view 107 oil paintings that have been permanently installed, along with a sizable interactive painting. On top of this, I have also completed a range of public works commissions in the Bay Area, including my Noah's Ark mural for the Berkeley Jewish Community Center situated on Rose and Walnut streets. The biggest of these commissions is the memorial mural for Dr. Linus Pauling, which commemorates his life's work, located in the City of Palo Alto. Using my symbol language, I was able to depict his life's work and concepts.
For me, painting and writing go hand in hand, completing my sense of fulfillment. Painting enables me to express profound emotions that words cannot do justice, while writing lets me be specific and detailed, sharing my insights and ideas in novels and spiritual philosophy books.
Teaching painting is my way of paying it forward and sharing everything I have gained from a lifetime of painting in oil on canvas, passing on not just techniques but also personal learnings and discoveries.
