Having been an Ordained Minister (Protestant) for over three decades, I have intermittently performed weddings throughout my career. Around six years ago, I joined the CrackerJack team, and since then, I have successfully conducted over 300 weddings, earning the Top Pro title for six consecutive years owing to my flawless reviews.
As a Vietnam Nam era Navy Veteran, I have developed a profound understanding of the requirements of young military couples. Currently, I serve as a job coach/trainer, helping disabled adults at United Cerebral Palsy, North County based in San Diego.
With Out of the Box Weddings being a part-time venture, I offer immense flexibility in scheduling and offer comparatively lower fees. Being a semi-retired minister, I am not bound by any specific denomination or church, enabling me to design wedding ceremonies that satisfy the couple's needs rather than comply with institutional requirements.
I realized over time that as ministers grow old, they are increasingly requested to conduct funerals. Though I comprehend and value the importance of this duty, I find more fulfillment in celebrating love and joy rather than handling events that indicate the end of life.
Most of my work in ministry centers around young people and rock-and-roll music, with all the enthusiasm, vitality, and excitement it holds. Thus, focusing on wedding ceremonies seemed like a natural way to pursue my passion.
In my profession, I have encountered individuals from various races, age groups, and religious backgrounds, including bikers, metal-heads, goths, and even a circus wedding! Additionally, I have had the privilege of assisting several gay couples with their vows. Observing and interacting with so many people from diverse backgrounds are what make life more meaningful and enjoyable for me.
What I enjoy most is exploring the spirituality surrounding weddings and sharing it with others. Although I am a Christian minister, I recognize that spirituality extends beyond a specific denomination or practice. Therefore, I enjoy meeting couples on common ground, ranging from agnostics to evangelicals. Ultimately, love forms the foundation for all wedding ceremonies and creates a common spirituality that transcends all differences.
