I am an Iranian musician who faced educational limitations due to my religious minority status in Iran. However, prior to relocating to the United States as a religious refugee in April 2010, I received musical training at an underground institution called BIHE. Under the guidance of Professor Tengiz Shavlokhashvilli, I also studied music theory and composition alongside piano lessons from Safa Shahidi and Fahim Momtazi.
Upon my arrival in the US, I pursued a composition undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia with Dr. Adrian Childs and Dr. Natalie Williams. I also honed my piano skills with Dr. Martha Thomas. As a composer, I take inspiration from Middle Eastern modes and incorporate Western and Eastern music in my compositions.
I began teaching piano twelve years ago to students ranging from four-year-olds to sixty-year-olds. I prioritize cultivating a fun and joyous environment for my students while teaching them the necessary techniques and skills for becoming proficient pianists. It brings me immense satisfaction to witness my students' growing motivation and improvement as they master various techniques and unique talents.
In addition to teaching, I have been tuning pianos since 2004 and have worked with major piano companies, such as Yamaha and Samick, for seven years.
