Despite being initially hired for the job, Matt opted out upon realizing there was a straightforward solution that I could handle independently. He deemed it impractical for both of us to proceed with his services as the remedy was one that hadn't crossed my mind, but was simply achievable with off-the-shelf supplies from Home Depot. I highly commend Matt for his sincerity and openness, and should I require assistance with a more extensive grading and drainage task in the future, he will be my top priority to contact.
