Starting was difficult, as we had four years of planning and ideas to discuss with Michael during our Sunday meeting. Though meetings usually last an hour or two, our initial one took nearly five hours. I have demanding expectations and often warn those bidding for work that I am very particular, but Michael was patient and never complained, even when I messaged him late at night with ideas I needed to share immediately. He even revised my plans several times without issue, despite my initial instructions. The 3D plan was crucial, as I am acting as my own general contractor for the first time. I have already hired the Concrete Co, Excavator, Electrician and General Construction crew for the build, and they all loved the 3D plan that came with the package. Initially, I didn't think it mattered as I knew exactly what I wanted, but I soon realized how important it was to communicate my vision to the tradesmen. My general construction crew said the 3D plan eliminated guesswork and made their job easier. This can save homeowners up to 10% on bids and potentially thousands of dollars on changes during the build. In my case, the 10% savings on labor paid for the plans. Michael was able to move the electrical and plumbing out of the SIP's logically, saving me an additional 5% or $6,600 on the cost of the SIP's. I am thrilled with the progress and will update with photos as we continue. I have already recommended Michael to my sister, who learned the hard way about improper planning during her last custom build.

Although we are still in the early stages, I must say that I am thoroughly impressed. I have the impression that he hears me and understands my vision, rather than assuming control.
