Music is my life. I started playing the keys in 1974 and began teaching in 2005. It's not just what I do, it's who I am. My first music instructor, Sonny Harris, instilled in me a gift that I believe is important to pass on to others. In my studio, you'll learn more than just classical music. I'll teach you how to play the blues, jazz, latin, rock, and pop. You'll even start to learn how to compose your own music and improvise. My modern and relaxed studio is located in the southwest Charlotte/Steele Creek area. But it's not just about reading music. You'll also learn how to feel it and understand how everything comes together. This is where the real magic happens. You'll start to find your own voice as a musician in ways you never thought possible.

I sought out a piano instructor for my two children, aged 10 and 12, who could teach them not only how to read sheet music and play classical pieces, but also the fundamentals behind creative expression in other styles. Thankfully, we discovered Mr. Dan, whose teaching style perfectly aligns with our goals. After just one month of lessons, my kids have been challenged by Mr. Dan's homework assignments, yet he always manages to be encouraging at their weekly recitals. Despite being beginners, my children are building a solid foundation in the basics, while Mr. Dan inspires them with the promise of future enjoyment. In fact, I'm even toying with the idea of taking lessons myself! I cannot recommend Mr. Dan highly enough.
