Be truthful about your abilities. On Tuesday, he indicated that he would order a part and potentially repair it on Saturday. Can you provide me with a time frame, please? On Wednesday evening, he informed me that the job could not be done on Saturday and inquired about Thursday or Friday. I informed him that either day was suitable and asked for a timeframe. He didn't respond until Friday morning when he discovered that the piece was not in stock, and he would have to order it; he would notify me when it arrived. He seemed to have forgotten that he had promised to order the part on Tuesday. I reminded him of recent events, but he claimed to be too busy and declined to complete the job, advising me to seek assistance from someone who could respond more quickly. The most exasperating aspect is that I never pressured him and was trying to adjust to his schedule.
