Until the pandemic, Lisa was my personal trainer for multiple years. Her guidance in managing my sciatica was crucial as it had a significant impact on my well-being. However, it eventually became clear that the only way to eliminate the discomfort was to receive epidural shots, and I have had five in the last two years, with the most recent on August 7th, 2021. Lisa also aided me in coping with a painful torn rotator cuff that disrupted my sleep, and I concurrently underwent physical therapy. On March 15th of this year, I underwent reverse surgery which proved to be extraordinarily effective, and I was able to golf during the summer season. Again, while I miss Lisa, I am pleased that she is now situated closer to her family, and I recall that she was especially proficient in working with older adults, including myself as I am now 78. At present, I have not retained the services of a personal trainer, but my insurance will cover Silver Sneakers from January 2022 onwards, and I plan to utilize this program at our local YMCA. Lisa's extensive knowledge of fitness and unwavering dedication to her work as a personal trainer is truly remarkable. For two years, my husband, who has Parkinson's disease, has been training with Lisa twice a week at our local YMCA. During this time, Lisa has done an incredible job of increasing his stamina and strength by focusing on his core, which has improved his balance - a critical aspect of Parkinson's management. Thanks to her efforts, my husband has seen a significant decrease in the number of falls he experiences compared to before he worked with her. Lisa is exceptional at adjusting the exercises according to my husband's changing capabilities, and she ensures that the workouts are never monotonous. Even when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she swiftly adapted to the use of virtual sessions on Zoom, which has worked incredibly well. She demonstrated her commitment to her clients by not missing a single session with my husband despite moving to Arizona recently. Unfailingly, Lisa shares valuable tips on nutrition, diet, and physical activities that are beneficial for individuals with Parkinson's. Beyond her role as a trainer, Lisa has even arranged online meetings with other Parkinson's clients to offer support and connect them with others going through similar experiences. With Lisa's guidance, my husband remains motivated to fight Parkinson's through exercise. Her infectiously positive energy creates a fun environment for training, and after two years of working with her, he still looks forward to each session.
