Description:

As a professional opera singer, I offer classical voice and piano lessons both in-person at my studio in Fountain Valley, CA and remotely to students across the United States. My experience includes working with the Los Angeles and Houston Grand Opera, and previously teaching voice at the collegiate level with degrees in performance from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and Rice University, as well as 15+ years of piano experience.

My voice students focus on classic technique, musical theater, and pop styling. We work on developing their unique sound, connecting to their breath, and honing performance techniques. Additionally, students can prepare for auditions and competitions at advanced levels. Singers will learn to perform songs in different languages and styles, including Italian, German, French, English, musical theater, and pop.

Piano students will develop proper technique, learn all major/minor scales, music theory, and how to play classical and pop songs with memorization and performance techniques. I provide a safe and encouraging environment to discuss consistent practice habits, which is essential for student progression. All ages and levels are welcomed, with the exception of piano students who must be at least 5 years old.

As a teacher, I value authenticity and encourage each student to tap into their innate creative resources. Both singing and playing piano offer enjoyable and invigorating activities for the mind, body, and heart. My rate is $120/hour and $60/30min.

My daughter's vocal coach is Liz, and I can't express enough how wonderful the experience has been! Under her guidance, my 14-year-old daughter has improved her vocal strength and quality, learned breath control, and discovered how to smoothly transition between her head and chest voice. Liz has helped her gain more power, control, and ease in her singing, elevating her voice to a beautiful new level. Liz also helps my daughter prepare for various performances, including music for the high school mixed chorus and jury tests, as well as musical theatre auditions and other school performances. Liz is an exceptional teacher - displaying high levels of organization, patience, kindness, and thoughtfulness! Through Liz's virtual piano lessons, my daughters have experienced exponential growth and learning. Liz's engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons have made learning fun for them, given their elementary school-age.
