Laurence Barrow

Greetings, I'm Laurence Barrow and I'm pleased to offer lessons to students of all skill levels from my residence in San Mateo. With ample experience and highly regarded expertise, I customize my instruction to suit the unique needs and personality of each pupil. My focus is to ensure that students can proficiently read the notes they play, ultimately fostering independence and confidence as musicians. I hold special talent in preparing students for the ABRSM exams and maintain an esteemed membership with the California Music Teachers Association. My lessons are available in either English or French, utilizing either the do re mi or ABC musical systems.

My qualifications consist of a Master of Music degree in piano pedagogy from Belmont's Notre Dame de Namur University (GPA: 4.0), along with a state piano teaching diploma from France and a gold medal in piano performance from Conservatoire National. Lastly, my academic background includes earning a Bachelor of Arts in Musicology from the prestigious Sorbonne in Paris with honours. I am fluent in both French and English.
