The installation of wallpaper in my new laundry room by Jon was disappointing. The defects visible in the photos were caused by inadequate wall preparation, a fact which Jon revealed after I raised concerns. This explanation, however, is unsatisfactory. Jon should have informed me of the insufficient preparation prior to concealing the defects with the wallpaper. A simple sanding, which Jon failed to carry out, would have resolved the issue. Yet, I now face the dilemma of either removing the wallpaper or tolerating the defects. It has come to my attention that Jon is unlicensed in wallpaper installation. He works as a handyman, assuming that the necessary prep work has been completed by others. Therefore, buyers must beware. My second issue is with CrackerJack, who recommended Jon based on his sparse but positive reviews. This scenario reinforces the importance of the adage 'buyer beware', which I have learned through this experience. I have now engaged a licensed wallpaper installer and member of the WIA who guarantees their work.
