Having 19 years of teaching experience under his belt, John is passionate about creating a nurturing, energetic, and inspirational environment for people of all ages, genders and skill levels. His skills in personability, adaptability, efficiency and patience, allow him to use music and drumming with a therapeutic and healing approach to enrich people’s lives. These skills have been developed during his experience performing, teaching, and traveling, having worked with people of all ages and abilities including those with special needs.
As a full-time musician with a degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, John has also studied traditional drumming in West Africa on three long tours. He specializes in all music styles on the drum set, hand drums, auxiliary percussion, reading and writing music, audio production and engineering, sampling, electronic beat-making, and piano.

Today was my 15-year-old's first drumming lesson with John, and it was fantastic. John is an expert in drumming and has a warm and supportive personality. He explained everything in an easy-to-understand way and encouraged my child throughout the lesson. We feel lucky to have found such a great teacher and are excited for the next lesson!
