Heinrich Heine famously said that music picks up where words fall short. If you are interested in learning to play the flute, I invite you to join my studio. Since 2012, I have been committed to teaching a fun and engaging curriculum that helps students master the fundamental skills necessary for creating beautiful music. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
As a professional flutist and graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to each lesson. My top priority is to provide a kind and supportive environment in which students can explore and deepen their love of music over time. Lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis, and each session is designed to help you progress in your abilities while having fun in the process.
During our initial consultation, we will discuss your experience level, musical goals, and my studio policies. I am happy to provide an introductory mini-lesson to help you get a sense of my teaching style. I offer both in-person and virtual lessons, and I am committed to helping you achieve your musical aspirations.
My studio has a long history of success, with former students being admitted to prestigious music schools such as the Eastman School of Music, Indiana University, and the University of Michigan. Students are also encouraged to perform at solo recitals and studio classes throughout the year.
Flute lesson topics include breathing technique, tone production, musical styles, and repertoire studies. You will have the opportunity to learn how to perform with confidence, prepare for auditions, and develop a strong foundation in music theory and history. In addition, I offer virtual and in-person ensembles and studio classes.
