Description:

My name is Jeannette and I am dedicated to my students’ progress. Whether in-person or remote, I offer personalized 1-on-1 lessons and provide a comprehensive plan before every session via Google Docs. My teaching philosophy focuses on prioritizing practical application with PRACTICE BEFORE EVERYTHING ELSE. I find that this approach makes learning enjoyable and useful, as I explain grammatical rules in a practical manner.

My students are encouraged to ask questions, which only helps me to continue learning alongside them. As a certified Spanish teacher with a four-year degree in education and languages from Colombia, I have been teaching Spanish in the USA for over 18 years. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and aim to impart understanding rather than repetition. Together, we tackle language application through conversation, videos, and activities created for both in-class and at-home assignments.

I have recently commenced my Spanish lessons with Jeannette and I must say, she is an excellent communicator. For our first session, she came well-prepared and gave me assignments for the next meeting, as per my request. Her pace of speaking was perfect for me to comprehend during the lesson. She made use of Google docs to present while speaking and a whiteboard when I had any difficulty understanding the concept.
