As a certified Japanese instructor from The Japanese Institute in Paris and a native speaker based in New York City, I offer trilingual (Japanese, French, and English) language instruction tailored to suit the unique needs and level of each student. Drawing on my diverse cultural background - having grown up in Japan and lived abroad on both coasts of the USA and in France from the age of 15 - I bring a wealth of experience and expertise, as well as a passion for sharing the beauty of language, good food, nature, and animals. With me, you'll not only learn fast, but also have fun!
I have worked with a wide range of clients, from business professionals who interact with Japanese customers, to students who are enthusiastic about Japanese culture, as well as those planning a trip to Japan, JLPT/BJT exam candidates, and various project-specific clients. Additionally, I offer special tutoring sessions for children using drawing, coloring, simple games, and singing.
My study materials and resources include a variety of textbooks and workbooks, such as Minna no Nihongo, Genki, Japanese for Busy People, and Sou Matome Japanese Language Proficiency Test and Kanzen Master JLPT series.

My Japanese teacher, Akiko, has been incredible. Her lessons are meticulously planned and I receive precise instructions on my assignments and what's expected of me. Akiko's diligence and dedication have not gone unnoticed and I'm extremely satisfied with my pace of progress. Her transparency and willingness to address any previous questions I may have is genuinely appreciated. My 6-year old daughter is being taught Japanese by Akiko and she is completely engaged! Despite having no prior knowledge of the language, Akiko's lessons are both enjoyable and informative. I never imagined my daughter would learn so much at such a young age, and she consistently expresses disappointment that her weekly 45-minute lessons are not long enough. We are thrilled with the results and truly impressed by Akiko's skills.
