Hi, I'm Hannah and I describe myself as a blue collar yogi. I believe yoga is universally accessible. Despite what magazines may suggest, the path to enlightenment doesn't entail the ability to kiss your own butt. Being aware of your breath is enough to practice yoga; while achieving the splits is admirable, it's not mandatory.
With sixteen years of yoga experience, I started teaching in 2012. To me, yoga should be an enjoyable experience. I aim to incorporate mindfulness, fitness, and body awareness while keeping a playful atmosphere throughout.
In the words of a teacher I admire, "The means determine the end." "Yoga" means unification of the mind, body, and breath. The focus isn't on how a posture appears, but how it feels in the body.
As a teacher, I always emphasize that listening to your body is crucial, that less is more, and that our intentions for practice are as important as the practice itself. The benefits of practicing yoga are numerous, including flexibility, strength, stress relief, and developing a self-care regimen. I'm available for virtual or in-person support, lead group classes, and special events. I happily welcome beginners and intermediates, as well as more advanced practitioners in need of a refresher.
