Golden was paid $150 to serve summons and petition in a family action within 24 hours. However, they failed to commence the service until 48 hours later. Even then, they went to the place of service but could not locate the recipient. On their second attempt, they arrived at almost midnight when the person was asleep, which was inappropriate. When asked for a refund, Golden's owner declined, claiming that they had attempted service three times.
