I first picked up a golf club at the age of 7 while playing at Par 3 Country Club of the South, a course that may reveal my age just a bit. After my parents became members at Richmond Country Club, I had the honor of learning from a legendary instructor, Leo Steinbrecher. I went on to compete in college at Longwood "College" before ultimately deciding to pursue my true passion and career - golf instruction. I am proud to now be a Certified United States Golf Teachers Federation Professional.
Throughout my career, I have taught at a variety of courses including Royal Virginia, Sycamore Creek, and Patterson Golf Park. I particularly enjoy giving playing lessons and my philosophy on the game is quite simple - KISS. While other instructors may try to get you to change everything and aim for the "perfect swing," I prefer to work with each student's unique abilities and talents. Above all, I want my pupils to have fun, relax, and enjoy the game. I firmly believe that taking a less serious approach actually leads to better play.
I work with both men and women, but many female students find it more comfortable to work with a female pro. I understand that men and women have different shapes and require different approaches to teaching. In my lessons, I strive to identify common faults and teach my students how to fix them on their own, rather than relying on my presence.
Unlike some pros, I don't time my lessons by the number of balls hit or by the minutes on a watch. I want to make sure that each and every student is getting their money's worth and then some. Golf is a passion of mine and I want to give back to the sport as much as I can. I'm available for lessons day or night, during the week or weekends, and I'm dedicated to helping every student improve their game. Whether you're looking for a tune-up or hoping to learn the game with proper instruction, I'm here to help. Don't hesitate to reach out - you won't be disappointed!
