Hello there! Thank you for stopping by my profile. As a polyglot, I have extensive experience as an intuitive language teacher and tutor. My background includes musicology studies in Brussels, as well as applied linguistics from UC Berkeley. Additionally, I have attended multiple workshops on dyslexia. Throughout my career, I have taught French, ESL, Portuguese, and Spanish to adults in esteemed language schools, such as the Alliance Française and the English Center. I have also worked in private elementary and middle schools, educating students of all levels, from beginner to advanced, and of all ages, including seniors.
For the last decade, I have devoted my professional life to private and semi-private tutoring. Recently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been tutoring remotely on Zoom and Google Meet. Teaching is my passion, and having learned five languages myself, I am familiar with the challenges faced by foreign language students.
My teaching style is tailored to the individual needs, interests, and learning preferences of each student. Several of my clients have noted how my techniques for accent reduction greatly aided in their language acquisition. I emphasize grammar in context, and help my students develop good pronunciation from the very first lesson. I am patient, flexible, and believe in working at my students' pace.

In preparation for my upcoming trip to Belgium in May to meet my spouse's friends and family, I desired a rudimentary comprehension of French. Being a novice with no background in the language, I found Ingrid to be an incredibly patient educator who was willing to accommodate my individual learning style. In preparation for my DALF C1 (Advanced French proficiency) examination, I received tutoring from Ingrid for a few months. She was remarkably adept at calling attention to my diction, intonation, and articulation, as well as guiding me on how to express myself in a way that would make sense to anyone, not just acquaintances, non-native speakers, or language educators.
