Description:

Since 2006, I have taught professional drum lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Teaching has been a passion of mine since early on in my music career, as I find it enlightening to share the gift of music. As an instructor, I strive to provide aspiring drummers with the tools they need to achieve their goals as a musician. Whether my students wish to cover a specific style, work on developing solos, or simply learn the basics of the instrument, I am here to offer the stepping stones to success. During our lessons, we can cover anything my students want to learn, ultimately having fun while playing drums.

As an instructor, it's incredibly rewarding to work with students of varying backgrounds and skills, and to watch them achieve their goals as a musician. I believe that creating individualized lesson plans, based on my students' learning styles, is key to their success. Witnessing the moment when everything clicks for a student, and they fully grasp a challenging technique, is just as exhilarating for me as it is for them.

For over four years, Eric was my drumming instructor, providing me with weekly lessons. Although I possessed minimal experience on the drums, I was eager to learn. Thankfully, Eric was the perfect instructor for me. He taught me how to read music and facilitated my learning with practice drills he would write out. Eric possesses an incredible ability to recognize his students' strengths and weaknesses, thus enabling him to isolate the latter and create drills that make learning new parts not only easier but more enjoyable. When I had difficulty with a specific part of a lesson, Eric would play it so I could understand what it should sound like. Under Eric's tutelage, I learned various drumming styles and the fundamental principles behind them. Despite his easygoing personality, Eric constantly challenged me to do my best. Anyone interested in learning to play the drums ought to consider him as their instructor.

For several months now, Eric has been my drum set instructor. When I first began, my knowledge was limited to only holding the sticks, knowing some basic rudiments, and having a degree of sight reading. Starting from scratch, Eric provided basic rock grooves for me to practice with, which helped me get started. As I was keen to join my school's Jazz band, I asked Eric if we could shift our focus to that. He's an incredible instructor, as he allows you to choose your learning direction, even if it means learning how to play along to a particular song you enjoy. Having a sense of direction in your learning process is incredibly important, and Eric's guidance has enhanced my progress immensely. He also provides helpful techniques that can't be obtained through self-study, which I'm grateful for. Throughout my lessons with Eric, I've progressed significantly from struggling to play the snare and bass drums independently with rock grooves to handling complicated jazz drumming with all four limbs. Overall, I highly recommend taking Eric's drum lessons.

Eric has been absolutely fantastic - we can't praise him enough. Watching our ten-year-old son during his lessons with Eric has been a truly amazing experience. Eric is incredibly skilled at engaging with children and keeping their interest levels high. Not only is he a talented and effective instructor, but he is also an exceptional drummer in his own right. Needless to say, we plan on continuing to take drum lessons with Eric for as long as our son remains eager to learn.

Eric's approach to starting each session by outlining what they will be covering in class is something that I really appreciate. What's impressive is that my 6-year-old son has already been introduced to a range of drumming skills such as reading music, playing by ear, identifying the different parts of the set, and practicing 4 different grooves. What's more, Eric's plan for next week's class is for my son to learn how to tune his own drums. Throughout the sessions, Eric has displayed an admirable level of patience and encouragement to my son which perfectly complements their steady pace. Suffice it to say, we are absolutely delighted with our experience so far.

Eric is an amazing drum teacher who makes my 9-year-old look forward to his lessons. His approach is engaging and fun, and my son is always excited to learn from him. He is not just an exceptional teacher, but also great with children!
