With my Doctor of Music Degree from Yale and extensive experience in various areas, I am proud to be a member of the faculties at AMDA and UCLA, teaching a wide range of music genres including classical, pop, and musical theater. As a teacher, nothing excites me more than helping individuals of all levels unlock their potential and seeing them grow.
In regards to vocal instruction, I implement a variety of techniques I've acquired from esteemed professionals in Los Angeles and New York to assist singers in expanding their range and singing with less tension. Many of my clientele are surprised at how quickly they generate more ease and confidence while singing. I effectively help both male and female singers find and turn on the mix in their voices for optimal results. I am also capable of providing singers with piano tracks and transposing karaoke tracks upon request. My lesson plans are split between technical exercises and song selection.
In my piano lessons, I happily instruct both classical and popular styles for all ages, utilizing methods such as the piano adventures series for beginner and intermediate students. For advanced players, I combine suggested pieces with songs that excite them. I take pleasure in preparing my students for the CM certificate of merit evaluations through MTAC and other competitive events, and I specialize in helping intermediate players improve their music reading speed and comprehension.
