Prizewinning violist Dr. Adelya Shagidullina has garnered top awards from competitions such as the "Andrey Korsakov All Russian Music Competition", "Eugen Coca International Music Competition", and "Togliatti International Competition". In addition, she has received the First Prize and the Special Prize for the best performance of a commissioned work at the national "J.S.Bach Competition". Dr. Shagidullina has won the First Prize at the "American Protege International Competition" and the "The American Prize Competition" and was invited to give a solo performance at Carnegie Hall in December 2016. She returned to Carnegie Hall in June 2019 to perform as a top winner of the LISMA International competition (August 2017). Dr. Shagidullina was also named a winner of the Beverly Hills National Auditions in May 2018, earning her the opportunity to tour California in May 2019.
Dr. Shagidullina is a dedicated teacher and active solo, chamber, and orchestra musician. She has performed in numerous notable venues, including Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Dr. Shagidullina has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Dmitry Berlinsky, Luiza Borac, Branford Marsalis, and Mark Peskanov, among others. She has also taught extensively at various public and private institutions, including Temple Music Preparatory Division and the School of Mahanaim in Huntington, NY.
Dr. Shagidullina received her Doctor of Performing Arts degree from Temple University in August 2019. Throughout her years of study, she has studied under the tutelage of celebrated professors such as Eduard Schmieder, Daniel Avshalomov, and Lambert Orkis. Dr. Shagidullina is currently a member of the newly-formed Embassy Quartet and a violist in the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra.

The lessons with Dr. Adelya are enjoyable and engaging. She has a welcoming demeanor that creates a warm learning environment. Additionally, she presents the material in a manner that is accessible for my 8 year old and incorporates fun elements into the curriculum.

Adelya is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a talented violin instructor.
