Working with Don for the first time was a great experience. The end result was satisfactory and offered at an affordable price. Don even returned to perform touch-ups after installing the freshly painted cabinets, ensuring that everything looked immaculate.

I highly recommend Don McKay for any cabinet work needed. My experience with him was exceptional. I compared quotes from Don and another skilled cabinet carpenter, but Don's quote was much more cost-effective because of his understanding of an uncomplicated approach to the job. His expertise was evident throughout the entire process. Don's comprehensive knowledge of cabinet construction, wood varieties, finishes such as veneers and paints, as well as dishwasher connections including water, drain, and electrical connections, glues, epoxies, solvents, countertops, lighting and more, resulted in a job that was not only simpler but also better. His top-notch craftsmanship and outstanding skills enabled him to deliver exactly what was wanted in the quickest time and at the most affordable cost. He is punctual and dedicated to his work, never compromising professionalism. Intriguingly, while he was most of the way through the job and I was satisfied with his work, I tried to pay him the full amount; however, he refused, stating that he wouldn't accept payment until the project was completed, and the client was completely satisfied. That is what one expects from a professional like Don.  The project consisted of reconstructing the kitchen cabinet adjacent to the dishwasher and under the sink, necessitated by the removal of the mold caused by a water leak. Don installed the new cabinet (an exact replica of the original) with precision and made sure there will be no water leaks in the future.

Don McKay's Custom Cabinets did an exceptional job with their services. They obtained, painted, and installed new cabinet doors (17), constructed new user-friendly drawers (24), painted the 30-year-old pre-existing cabinet frames, as well as the ceilings and walls in the kitchen, dining room, living room, entryway, and hallways. Furthermore, they installed 31 pancake-style (thin) lights, requiring attic work amidst the hot summer, which can be dimmed efficiently. All of this labor resulted in us feeling that our home has a more modern appearance and air. We made multiple requests for extra lights and painted areas, which McKay fulfilled without delay. Their attention to detail was impeccable, even for the slightest of touch-ups we felt was necessary. Ultimately, they finished the project to our satisfaction with all of our requests met. Don provided us with superb guidance regarding cabinet doors and drawer choices, as well as color recommendations based on his extensive experience in kitchen remodels.
