As a massage therapist, I often receive requests for Swedish Massage. However, my focus is on resolving chronic pain and dysfunction, and Swedish Massage is not typically a part of my treatment repertoire. I concentrate on specific areas of the body and use a range of techniques such as myofascial release, active release, visceral manipulation, joint mobilization, trigger point therapy, and dry needling to address the pain. Unless it is energy-based with Craniosacral or Reiki, I rarely do full-body work, as I prefer to detach from problem-solving and allow the energy to flow.
If you'd like to know more about my journey and how my business came to be, keep reading.
My journey started with a hectic schedule of twenty clients in three hours, all experiencing different levels of pain. I would often find myself exhausted on my drive home, wondering how I could do more for each patient. I knew I needed more time to make a real difference, but I didn't know how to achieve it.
Then, one day, a local chiropractor named Doug Myers approached me with an opportunity to open a clinic together. Initially, it was a dream come true. However, as time went on, Doug insisted on a larger case-load, and I began to feel the pressure mount. In 2007, following my parents' divorce and legal trouble with the old clinic, I finally found the courage to walk away.
Since then, I have built up my client base from the ground up, using a more personal approach that allows me to spend an hour with each patient. Using a comprehensive approach, I can address all aspects of pain, including mental, emotional, and physical issues. The end result is more significant and long-lasting, and my patients usually only require a few visits rather than multiple sessions a week.
Overall, what really excites me about my work is being able to help people who are frustrated and suffering from chronic pain. By providing a comprehensive approach to pain management, I can make a real difference in people's lives.
