I have always been extremely low maintenance when it comes to my appearance. It has been years since I relaxed my hair and my go-to makeup staples are Pond's cold cream and lipstick. When I was 19, my family practically had to hold me down to pluck my eyebrows. However, four weeks ago, my supervisor announced that they wanted to take a photo of me for the company website. I was tired and it showed. I had blemishes that I typically ignored and dark circles under my eyes, which I tried to cover up by wearing glasses I didn't need. I had even experienced a negative reaction to recent waxing. I was panicked because these photos would be on the internet forever, and I wanted to present my best self. However, I never learned how to properly apply makeup and was hesitant to trust just any makeup artist I found online. Thankfully, I stumbled upon CrackerJack through a Google search for a Black makeup artist. After browsing through several profiles, I narrowed my choices down to two contenders and ultimately chose Dany Makeup & Hair. Daniela was incredible from the start. She quickly responded to my inquiries and showed genuine care for my concerns. During our meeting, her professionalism and attention to detail shone through. She arrived early, was willing to meet wherever was convenient for me, and even made the best of subpar conference room lighting. Daniela used high-quality products and regularly checked in with my preferences throughout the process. By the end, I was thrilled with the results; the makeup was subtle yet transformative. I was grateful for her friendly demeanor, expertise, and reliability. Even though the photoshoot was ultimately rescheduled, I am excited to work with Daniela again for such an important event.
