We are thrilled that we consulted CrackerJack for a second opinion before going ahead with the previous company's high-priced quote for our AC unit. Turns out, they had misdiagnosed the issue. Craft Mechanical arrived promptly and identified the problem, which was not a failed compressor. We regret not contacting them first as we had to endure 3 miserable, humid days and waste time debating with other contractors. The picture of the shorted wires illustrates how they were frayed by a sharp entry point, which caused the problem. We will definitely be reaching out to Craft Mechanical first for future HVAC needs. They clearly explained everything to us.
