Description:

Having worked in special education classrooms, holding a BS degree in psychology, and having experience tutoring gifted individuals, I possess a varied skill set. With a California substitute teaching qualification (CBEST passed), I bring creativity and strategic planning to the chessboard alongside a professional and fun approach. Homework may be assigned as necessary. For more advanced students, I offer a free lesson if I lose three consecutive games during a one-hour session! If you refer me to someone who books a session, you'll receive a lesson for just $30. Additionally, I highly recommend purchasing a set of workbooks for $40. Please note that for appointments cancelled within 36 hours of the scheduled time, a fee of $30 will be incurred.

Jenny is an exceptional chess instructor, who has taught my five-year-old and 10-year-old children everything they know about the game. We were fortunate to have her for one year, during which she conducted structured sessions with diverse teaching materials such as workbooks, worksheets, and computer games. Jenny has an incredible rapport with children, and her sessions were always engaging and fun for my kids. She played games with them, imparted different strategies, and encouraged them to think creatively. My kids loved receiving little toys from her after each session. Both my husband and I were impressed with her professionalism and dedication. If you're looking for a chess instructor for your kids, I highly recommend Jenny. If only I could award all 5 stars! Jenny is truly incredible; she taught me the game of chess with such patience and expertise. I'm the type of learner who isn't afraid to ask silly questions and Jenny always took the time to offer me valuable advice.
