Updated Review: The project was originally promised to take 1-2 weeks, but ended up taking over 8-9 weeks. The general contractor only visited the site twice during the 2.5-month period and there was no oversight or quality control. The fireplace was mounted without any real build-out and we were charged over $900 for labor with no mantle included or finishing work to seal seams or level trim pieces. A second contractor estimated it to be only $45 worth of materials and $400-$500 worth of labor. There was also damage to private property and messes were left without any plans for clean up. Poor quality of work was deemed acceptable because it was a rental property and there were a combination of excuses for why work was not done on time or well. The $1000 refundable allowance was not supported by documentation and there was an inappropriate request to maintain a 5-star review. The contractor only attempted to fix the problem after I informed him that I would be updating my rating to provide an honest review. Pros/Remedies: - Despite some competitive value, the drawbacks must be considered and remedied. - A firm, non-negotiable start and end date must be set. - All ongoing and discussed changes or agreements must be documented and dated. - Coverage and protection of all built-ins must be included in the contract. - Receipts for all "Refundable Allowance" amounts must be required. - Staying on site during work if possible is recommended. Note that Troy responded to my intention of updating my review with several angered emails. Although I initially held back from dropping my rating due to his lack of professionalism, I later returned to an honest and objective review. All my other contractors have received glowing, 5-star reviews, showing that my standards for quality work and professionalism are high. Original Review: Troy is an excellent general contractor who is empathetic to both homeowners' and investors' budgets. He works hard to make sure that projects are completed on-time and communicates almost daily with clients. Troy takes pride in the quality of work he produces and wants to make sure all his clients leave satisfied. He is honest, transparent, and professional. I highly recommend him for any construction project.

Last week, my kitchen remodel was completed by Construct Kitchen & Bath and it turned out absolutely stunning. The 20-year-old kitchen I had before now resembles a magazine-worthy kitchen. The top highlight of the renovation is the gorgeous marble back splash. During the demolition phase, two walls had to be removed, and significant rewiring, plus HVAC pipe relocation, was required. Construct K&B made the entire process smooth and clean. Our cabinets and countertops were installed flawlessly, and we were extremely happy with the results. We had a lot of extra details that were involved in the kitchen remodel, which Construct K&B was able to accommodate with ease. They also installed new cabinets/countertops/backsplash/appliances, replaced electrical wiring/outlets, plumbing lines, and heating vents, installed tiles, a sink (undermount), faucet, and a garbage disposal, and installed new kitchen lighting and a pot filler. All in all, we were very satisfied with their work.
