Over the past two decades, Chef Zach Wingold has risen through the ranks of Richmond, VA's top restaurants, earning the esteemed position of Head Chef. His culinary journey began at age 15, when he worked at the Chesterfield Berry Farm, blending milkshakes and frying green tomatoes to save enough money to purchase a car.
After working as a busboy, food-runner, dishwasher, and prep cook at various restaurants, Zach secured a line cook position at The Boathouse at Sunday Park. It was here that his passion for cooking ignited, propelling him into the Executive Chef role at sister restaurant, Casa del Barco.
At Casa del Barco, Zach immersed himself in Latin American cuisine and spent his time off scouring local farmer's markets and international grocery stores for unique ingredients. He even used his vacations to study the culinary and cultural arts of cities like Oaxaca, Lima, and Paris.
Zach's expertise and love for food led him to run other renowned kitchens as Head Chef, including Millie's Diner and the Island Shrimp Co., which he opened in 2018 with HOUSEpitality Restaurant Group. Their menu focused on tropical cuisine inspired by Hawaii and the Southern hemisphere.
