My name is William Chapman and I hold a degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, as well as a certificate from the United States Armed Forces School of Music in Littlecreek, Virginia. As a professional vocalist and classical musician, I have performed nationally and internationally, with my most recent venture being a three-month engagement in Italy. My specialization in classical music has allowed me to learn new roles in popular operas, one act plays, and concert pieces, and I will bring all this knowledge to share with my students. I have had the privilege of collaborating with many talented musicians, including conductors, pianists, vocalists, and directors from Guatemala, Mexico, and Washington DC. Some of my most notable performances include appearing on stage with the Atlantic Coast Operas, San Antonio Lyrical Opera, the Music Society of Guadalajara Mexico, and the Ci.mus Opera Lirica Festival of Arpino, Italy, where I performed as a principal artist in great pieces such as La Boheme, Tosca, La Traviatta, and Il Pagliacci. I have also served as an artist in residence for the San Antonio Three Tenors.
As an educator, I have had the opportunity to work in music outreach programs, serving over 1,000 youth across the San Antonio school districts. These programs aim to facilitate music education and performances, which allow children to develop their artistic talents. Additionally, I have worked as a music director for the church choir in Temple, TX. Music has always been an instrumental part of my life, and I am honored to share my professional knowledge of vocal arts and stage performance with future performers. I look forward to working with prospective students.
