Working with Al Heathcock of Century Builders has been an outstanding experience. We hired the company for a complete interior renovation, which included demolishing walls, reconfiguring the kitchen and bathrooms, installing new cabinets, countertops, and fixtures. The bathrooms and kitchen were stripped down to the studs, and we had plumbing issues that required concrete excavation. Additionally, Century Builders installed a skylight, canned lights throughout the house, resurfaced the fireplace, replaced all the flooring with tile and hardwood, added a linen closet and crown molding, replaced doors, repaired wall textures, and completed several other tasks. The project's magnitude and the fact that we had to move our family and pets out during the process made us nervous about hiring an unknown contractor based only on reviews. We interviewed several other contractors, but we didn't feel comfortable with them. After meeting with Al a second time, we felt he displayed professionalism, honesty, and attentiveness to our needs, so we assigned him the entire project. We're thrilled with the outcome. Al's workmanship was exceptional, and he was eager to point out areas that needed attention. We generally adhered to the bid allowances, but we did add a few extra items, and the cost increased. When excavating the concrete or removing a wall revealed unforeseen problems, we felt the extra charges were reasonable. Al was good at anticipating additional costs and notifying us beforehand if possible. We acknowledge that renovation is a stressful process, but Al and his team alleviated our anxiety. We tried to visit the site regularly, but their wok gave us confidence. If any difficulties appeared, we knew Al would take care of them promptly. My husband has an extensive construction background, and he earned Al and his team's trust and respect. We wholeheartedly recommend Century Builders and will continue to do so to friends and family in need of a contractor.
