Cathy's teaching approach for partner dance is exceptional. Rather than focusing on "competitive dancing," she places emphasis on "Social Dancing." Her goal is to teach her students how to dance seamlessly with anyone to any song, as opposed to recalling specific steps and routines for just one partner. She concentrates on making the learning process fun while teaching the necessary techniques of movement, leading and following, partnering, and musical expression. Cathy equips her students with the necessary tools to dance naturally and fluidly while empowering them to create their own choreography with self-assurance.
This isn't a studio where contracts are mandatory. Cathy is a professionally trained instructor, having expertise in American and International Styles of Ballroom and Latin, Swing, Night Club, Country Western, and Victorian/Historical dances. For over 30 years, she has been teaching partner dance in Colorado. Social dancing has always been a critical component in bringing communities together, and Cathy learned this from her grandfather and mother, who passed down their love of dance.
She feels that it's her solemn responsibility to keep social dancing alive in our communities and for generations to come. Cathy also believes that anyone can dance, no matter their level of experience. Her ultimate reward comes from the natural dancers who emerge from students who thought they couldn't dance. Cathy witnesses the pure joy in students of all ages who enjoy moving to music with another person, and the benefits of dance that affect physical, mental, and psychological health. She enjoys nothing more than sharing the gift of dancing with others.

Before our wedding, we sought guidance from Cathy as we had never danced together and had no clue how to prepare for our first dance. Cathy promptly responded and accommodated our schedules. During our lessons, we received much more than just dance instructions. Cathy taught us how to collaborate, and we gained valuable lessons that extended beyond dance.
