Hi, I'm Benji Tompkins, a certified dog behaviorist living in Arlington, originally from Colorado. I have been training dogs since I was young, starting with family dogs and then expanding to the neighbors' pups. Though I worked in restaurants and various corporate environments after college, my adoration for dogs and people remained at the center of my being.
When it comes to training, my primary focus is guiding the human caregivers towards developing leadership skills to teach their own dogs. I believe that if I only train the dog and send them back without empowering the owners, I have failed in my training. I concentrate on teaching people the art of communication between them and their pets to facilitate building a mutual relationship founded on trust, respect, and love, rather than drills like sit, down, come, stay, heel.
I strive to establish open communication with my clients to address their concerns and fill in the gaps with their dogs. As a pet parent myself, I appreciate the importance of four-legged family members, and I treat my clients' dogs as my own.
