Description:

With more than 25 years of experience training both pet and working dogs, I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. My rate for pet dog lessons is $120 per hour, and $1100 per week for board and train services. For clients who require service dog training, I offer a variety of tailored payment plans that amount to $16,000-$20,000 over time, which is one-third of the typical rate for professionally trained service dogs. These long-term projects come with an array of training and payment options.

I pride myself on being professional, dependable, and adaptable. I offer flexible programs that can be tailored to your specific needs, and I have no storefront or overhead expenses. Instead, I either go to my clients or bring their dogs to my facility. If you're away during the day, I'm happy to train your dog while you're at work.

My board and train packages include pick up and delivery, as well as a lesson to show the owners the new skills their dog has learned and how to reinforce them. My expertise extends to pet dogs, service dogs, search and rescue dogs, and government agency detection dogs, regardless of breed or size. I utilize a range of techniques, from food reward to remote collars, to achieve success.

Our 7-month-old standard poodle has shown impressive improvements under Jennifer's guidance. Despite having researched and utilized positive reinforcement training techniques since we got him at 9-weeks old, our poodle remained a challenge, displaying reactivity towards other dogs due to a lack of socialization during the quarantine, struggling with leash walking, and exhibiting poor recall skills. Additionally, as he matured, he began to nip at objects in our hands, making us wary of his behavior. We discovered Jennifer, who offered a unique approach that combined positive reinforcement with other effective training methods geared towards various environments and purposes. After two weeks of working with Jennifer, our poodle's leash walking has improved significantly, and he now enjoys initiating greetings with other dogs during walks. Furthermore, he now understands and responds to commands like "kennel," providing us with a solid foundation for future training. Although more work is required due to his youth, we have confidence that our poodle will mature into an outstanding adult under Jennifer's guidance. We anticipate sending him to Jennifer for additional training in the future.

The trainer is exceptional, possessing vast expertise and collaborates with you to attain your objectives. My daughter has a severe disability, but the trainer is diligently assisting her in finishing the service dog training. I am extremely pleased.

I am fortunate to have found Jennifer to assist us in locating and training a service dog for my daughter, who has autism. She has been exceptional to collaborate with, and I appreciate her efforts. Check out our GoFundMe page to learn more about our campaign for an autism service dog for my daughter.

For a period of two weeks, our blue heeler, Karev, was entrusted to Jen's care for training. Karev exhibited typical characteristics of his breed, being high-energy and anxious. However, we were delighted to see that Jen had imparted in him the necessary skills to effectively handle his anxious reactions. The reward/command system that she had put in place had a positive impact, as Karev had adjusted well to it. Our main objective was to improve Karev's socialization skills, and we were pleased to note that he returned with significant improvements in this area. I have already recommended Jen's services to people in our social circle.

Jennifer Prentiss has exceeded expectations by tackling a tough situation involving a young family grappling with serious illness and a new puppy in dire need of training. The couple faced difficulties in providing adequate training for the pup, and hence, Jennifer was enlisted to assist. With her patient demeanor and willingness to accommodate scheduling appointments, she has already made significant strides in training the four-month-old husky. Our ultimate goal is for the pup to grow up to be a dependable and useful service dog as one of the owners lost much of their eyesight. Additionally, we aspire for the dog to be an ideal companion as well.
