With training from esteemed instructors like Douglas Masek and Jay Mason, I possess a passion for teaching and offering exceptional learning experiences to my students. Graduating from UCLA with a major in ethnomusicology and proficiency in saxophone performance and songwriting, I am well-versed in both saxophone pedagogy and songwriting skills. I understand the vast spectrum of musical backgrounds that students may have, having worked as a sound engineer in mixing songs for various artists.

Apart from my expertise in music, I am also an independent R&B/HipHop artist, producer, and sound engineer, having written, mixed, and produced my own work for years. If you want to learn how to use DAWs like Logic Pro X and ProTools to create and mix your own music, I can help. I presently work at the Ice Cream Sound Studio, alongside accomplished sound engineers, delivering quality work to clients.

My knowledge on saxophone and music prior to seeking Brian's guidance was close to nonexistent. Consequently, my advancement has been slower than my initial expectations. Nonetheless, Brian makes sure to spend ample time teaching the fundamentals and closely monitoring my saxophone embouchure. He has a genuine passion for music and is always eager to instruct me on any songs I wish to learn. Although I am eager to perform my current preferred song with his assistance, I understand the importance of first mastering the basics. Finding a reliable saxophone teacher for my eighth-grade child was quite a challenge. However, after almost a year of searching, I stumbled upon Brian. He has exceptional attention to detail, is highly patient, and possesses great communication skills with younger students. Finally, I have found a saxophone teacher who my child enjoys learning from! Simply by being in Brian's presence, his passion for music shines through. Learning saxophone and songwriting from him was an incredibly enjoyable experience. Brian's teaching method is both detailed and engaging, ensuring that the lessons never become tedious or boring, preventing me from losing interest. His use of examples made it easier to understand and learn the concepts. In addition to teaching classical saxophone, he also incorporated improvisation which made the lessons interesting and fun. Brian's teaching style is a combination of his years of experience and his formal education.
