My name is Kim Geisert, and I am the owner of Benevolent Sun Dogs, LLC. As a CPDT-KA certified trainer, I specialize in force-free training techniques that are scientifically proven to help you achieve your goals for your dog. My methods do not involve any aversive tools or techniques, and I focus on areas like aggression, reactivity, and confidence building, as well as puppy training, service dog training, and multi-dog households.

I have 8 years of professional training experience and have earned numerous certifications, including CPDT-KA, AKC-CGC, and memberships with professional organizations like the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.
As a relationship-centered and positive reinforcement trainer, I prioritize meeting all of a dog's physical, mental, and emotional needs to create a strong bond between pet and owner. To achieve this, I look at factors like a dog's daily routine, consistent communication, and proper exercise and stimulation.
I believe in the importance of building a strong relationship between pet and owner, which is essential to foundational obedience training and addressing behavior issues. Destructive behavior is often due to unmet needs, which can be addressed by modifying learned behaviors. I do not use any aversive tools or techniques in my training, and I use my own dogs as role models for obedience, socialization, and confidence building.
I am one of less than 25 certified trainers in Broward County, and I believe that a professional level of certification and experience is necessary when choosing a dog trainer. With my focus on positive reinforcement and relationship building, I can help you achieve your training goals without resorting to inhumane or ineffective techniques.

Yesterday, our pup who we rescued had his initial training session and my husband and I were extremely impressed by Kim's outstanding abilities! My two male dogs began fighting suddenly, which was concerning. When I reached out to Kim for help, she responded promptly and arranged an emergency session within just a few days, despite typically being booked out a week in advance. Kim was incredibly helpful over the phone, spending ample time discussing my problem and providing informative videos to help calm my dogs until our meeting. During our session, she arrived on time and took the time to address our concerns without pressuring us to schedule additional sessions. Kim offered us a variety of valuable tips and recommendations that increased my confidence and eased my mind. Kim is amazing! Her knowledge about dogs is truly impressive, and what impressed us most was her genuine love for dogs. She allayed my worries that my dog was abnormal and untrainable. Her information and training tips were tremendously helpful, and we appreciated that she did not pressure us into a long program or a set number of trainings. Kim, aka Benevolent Sun, is an absolutely incredible dog trainer. I'm thrilled with the experiences we've had so far and plan to work with her for years to come. Our first contact was through text, but we quickly moved to a phone call. Kim spent over an hour listening, asking questions, and understanding my specific situation and needs.
Our first training session was mind-blowing and I can't praise her enough. I have three dogs, two of which were getting into dangerous fights despite once being best buds. These are large dogs and I have young children, so the situation couldn't be ignored. After the first session, I learned so much and was able to continue the training on my own. Unfortunately, our first session was cut short due to traffic after a major accident, but Kim returned two days later and spent hours with my pups without charging extra. She's also always available for questions and updates via text or phone.

Working with Kim at Benevolent Sun Dog Training has been a fantastic experience. Her extensive knowledge is matched by the informative videos and information she shares with you. After just one visit, our new German Shepherd puppy has made tremendous progress and is learning quickly. Compared to past experiences with other dogs, Kim's techniques have accelerated the learning process significantly.
Our first session lasted almost 2 ½ hours, and we can now schedule continued sessions on an as-needed basis. Kim is patient, thorough, and an excellent trainer. She takes her time to show and explain various commands and how to achieve desired results quickly. Furthermore, she provides additional suggestions on how to keep the puppy engaged and stimulated with various toys and activities.
