With years of experience supplementing reading and writing skills, assisting with college application essays, and injecting lively French into high school programs, I can ensure that your student will maintain and improve their academic performance.
Whether it's ghostwriting your life story, perfecting your essay, or seeing your confidence soar as you speak French, I am passionate about helping my clients achieve their goals. As a lifelong professional linguist and native French speaker, I offer effective and reliable language instruction, from the basics to advanced levels and test preparation. Having learned multiple foreign languages myself, I understand the challenges and obstacles that come with it. I can teach in-person or online, whichever is more convenient for you.
With experience teaching languages at a college level (the University of Pennsylvania) and privately, as well as writing and editing three books, numerous articles and papers, and overseeing translations for federal court, I have the expertise to help you or your child succeed. Although I am now retired, I currently offer private tutoring, mostly online, and some of my students have been with me for up to five years.
I find joy in editing essays and making them more powerful, seeing my students experience "aha" moments when they grasp a concept, and building long-term relationships through ghostwriting and guidance to help them achieve their goals. I use laughter, encouragement, and reinforcement when teaching, and focus and introspection when writing and editing. Nothing makes me happier than a satisfied client, so I offer the first hour of tutoring for free. This allows me to assess your needs and level, and for you to get to know me better.
