I owe a debt of gratitude to Awesome Materials! After experiencing heavy rains and flooding in Jan, Feb, and March, I had to hire a contractor to fix two downstairs rooms in my house. This included a complete overhaul of my basement and brand new cement. Unfortunately, the contractor didn't know how to deal with fresh concrete and the epoxy finish they applied was a disaster. After waiting patiently, I feel confident in sharing my review of Awesome Materials' flooring system. Seven months ago (in September 2020), Mike and his team applied an ecodur layer and top coat to transform our garage floor. The result is impressive - it looks great and has proven to be durable and easy to clean. I'm especially pleased that it has not shown any signs of tire marks or flaking from the underlying concrete substrate. In fact, the coating even covered up minor cracks and rejuvenated the overall appearance of the concrete. If you're considering this flooring system, keep in mind that we opted for a white finish without flakes. While this approach may not yield a completely flawless result, we're happy with the aesthetic and believe it looks great from a distance. Upon closer inspection, some minor imperfections may be present due to the natural variation of the product. If this concerns you, Mike can suggest alternative approaches or incorporating flakes for a more uniform finish. One thing to be aware of is the amount of dust generated during the preparation phase. I recommend removing all items from the garage and taking care to limit dust entry as much as possible. Plan on cleaning everything after the process is complete, including walls, sills, and paneling. Ultimately, Mike is a reliable business owner who delivers on his promises. I am extremely satisfied with the work done. I opted for a non-epoxy coating as it is more effective in filling in cracked and uneven surfaces. Moreover, this coating has a slightly flexible texture that makes walking on concrete easier throughout the day.
