Hello there, my name is Athena Aldoroty and I am a skilled artist with two degrees in Art and design. Over the past thirty years, I have honed my craft and for the last fifteen, I have focused specifically on face painting. I have a deep passion for creating new designs and bringing joy to children's faces with my work. As a true artist, I use traditional face paint and brushes to ensure the highest quality work possible, and I am incredibly detail-oriented.
For birthday parties, I offer a special full face design of the child's choosing, as long as they are able to sit for 5-10 minutes depending on the design. Seeing the expression on a child's face when I'm finished is truly priceless and is what makes all the hard work worth it.
My hourly rate includes 10-12 small/medium face/arm designs or 6 full-face designs, though glitter tattoos may require additional time. I am located in Orange County, NY, and require a minimum of three hours for requests in Manhattan, Long Island, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (plus travel expenses). For locations in New Jersey (within 75 minutes distance) or Dutchess, Sullivan or Rockland counties, I require two hours (plus travel expenses), or if only an hour is needed, my rate will be raised to $175 instead of $110/hr.
As a responsible artist, I take the health and well-being of my customers very seriously. I follow the proper safety measures, including wearing a face covering, keeping brushes clean with antibacterial soap and water, sanitizing my hands after each face painting, and keeping sanitary wipes and hand sanitizer on my table. To maintain social distancing, I prefer to have children come to the table one at a time and appreciate them following the 6-foot rule. Thank you.

The children at our party were enamored with Athena's exquisite face and arm paintwork! The diverse selection of designs appealed to everyone's tastes. Athenas was the artist for all the face paintings at my child's 1st birthday party, which was organized by my husband and me. She executed an amazing job, showcasing her extraordinary talent on all the kids' faces, including my one-year-old's. Her patience and proficiency in painting a squirmy one-year-old, who seldom sits still for long spells of time, is commendable.
