Description:

Having received top-notch training from renowned professors like Alexander Reisman (New England Conservatory) and briefly studied under Daniel Rothmueller (Los Angeles Philharmonic), as well as participating in various workshops and seminars across the United States aimed at polishing my skills as a conductor and teacher, I take pride in my profession. As a teacher, witnessing my students' consistent weekly progress is highly fulfilling. Moreover, during our bi-annual student recitals, learners showcase their abilities, which they have honed over six months, resulting in marked progress. In essence, this is what makes teaching worthwhile. I offer a free introductory lesson for all students to get acquainted with my teaching style and learn what's expected.

The teacher I've had the privilege of learning from is the best. She exhibits incredible patience and care in explaining the course material, and her sense of humor and kindness make her lessons even more enjoyable.

For the past three years, I have had the honor and pleasure of receiving cello lessons from Arlette. I am immensely grateful for her skilled guidance, which has greatly enhanced my bowing and fingering techniques. Thanks to her exceptional coaching, I am now capable of producing a richer and more powerful sound on my instrument. Arlette has also provided invaluable counsel on proper posture and cello handling, which has boosted my confidence and made me feel more at ease with my cello. Moreover, Arlette has taught me to incorporate the written dynamics and note phrases in order to capture the intended emotion of a piece. As a member of a middle school/high school/community string orchestra, her patient, optimistic, and reasonably-priced instruction has been invaluable in tackling the challenging music that makes up our repertoire. At 69 years young, I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon such a remarkable teacher.

Arlette's mastery of music is simply amazing, and each lesson with her has never failed to enlighten me with novel insights. Her upbeat affirmations motivate me to practice more, while her personable teaching style ensures lessons progress seamlessly, devoid of any unpleasant frustrations, and thus give me a comforting feeling that "everything is going to be okay." Even though I have only just started taking lessons with Arlette, my skill level in music has risen by leaps and bounds, and my general knowledge of music has also skyrocketed. I always eagerly anticipate my next lesson, with the confidence that I am now on the right track under Arlette's tutelage.

Around 9 months ago, my 11-year-old daughter commenced her cello lessons with Arlette. Arlette is an excellent educator and musician! Her lessons are simple to understand, brief, and enjoyable. Recently, my daughter had her second recital, and we were able to observe her development.

Arlette is an excellent cello coach. My daughter had a great time in her initial session with Arlette. While practicing her school orchestra composition, Arlette aided my daughter in rectifying her errors. Despite being remote, the class atmosphere was akin to Arlette being physically present beside my child. Arlette is an incredibly meticulous, composed, and supportive mentor. We cannot wait for the forthcoming class. We appreciate you!
