Adam, the affable appliance repairman, was easy to contact and collaborate with. Our antiquated Speed Queen washing machine, which was five years old, had a rusting top and lid. I reached out to Alliance (PWS), the MFG, and was informed that all parts were manufactured and produced by Alliance, with the exception of the top and lid that were made in China. There was no warranty for those components. This seemed absurd to me, given the fact that the washer cost $1200! I will never buy a Speed Queen again. Fortunately, the mechanical parts were in perfect condition, but the hinge area where the switch was located on the lid was non-operational. Hence, I had to take action. In the end, I spent $176.00 on a new top, new lid, new hinges, new screws, and a new sticker. Adam was kind enough to replace the parts for us in just an hour's time.
