Hello there! My name is Cristina, and I am currently based in Bethesda, MD. With over a decade of satisfied clients, I am a professional language expert who offers Spanish and Portuguese instruction, as well as translation and interpretation services for English/Spanish and Portuguese/English.

I prioritize going above and beyond to provide exceptional support to my clients, and I am a native speaker of both Portuguese and Spanish, with more than 10 years of experience providing high-quality tutoring, interpretation, and translation services online.

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I completed my undergraduate education in sociology and education before traveling to Ecuador, where I lived for five years. There, I became fluent in Spanish at the Catholic University of Quito and earned a Masters degree in Project Management from the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO).

My experience and qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Brasilia with a Major in Sociology and education/teaching. Additionally, I am a certified teacher by the University of Brasilia and have provided Portuguese instruction for the Foreign Service Institute - Department of State in Washington DC for 3 years. I have also taught Spanish for the Language Learning Enterprise School in Washington DC for 4 years, and I have tutored high school students in preparation for the AP Spanish test.

For over a decade, I have provided translation services for international organizations, law firms, businesses, and individual clients both nationally and internationally, and I have studied Translation and Interpretation at Georgetown University. I also have over 10 years of experience providing interpretation services to both national and international events, including healthcare, education, law firms, and USCIS immigration interviews.

My expertise in teaching is recognized for performance excellence and innovation. I am the recipient of the 2020 Foreign Service Institute - U.S. Department of State awards for Teaching Excellence and Innovative Use of Technology in Online Class. I have helped hundreds of students become fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, and I have developed and designed both face-to-face and eLearning interactive and instructionally sound materials. I focus on diversifying and adapting instruction according to each student's specific needs and monitoring student performance, aligning assessments with international standards and scales (IRL).
